FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE @ THE BRIDGE — "Christ's Work In The Believer"

"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
He has made alive together in Him, having forgiven you all trespasses..."
Colossians 2:13 NKJV

When Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day, not only did He defeat death but He also freed us from living under the law—we now live under the freedom of God's grace! By His Spirit, we can "cut away" our sinful nature, we're baptized into new life with Christ, and our debt (the wages of our sin) has been canceled! Join us tonight at 7:30PM in the Multi-Purpose Room as we continue in our series through the Book of Colossians. Bring your Bible, invite a friend, and be encouraged through God's Word.

Brunch Date with Jesus - Valentine's Day 2019

This past Saturday we had our third annual bridge ladies Valentine’s Day celebration.

We had a great spread of food and beverages.

Each table had these gorgeous floral centerpieces and each lady got to take one home! Jess, Tai, Adrienne, and Christine did an excellent job at being our hosts.

Ms. Suzie is an amazing woman that we met through women’s ministry and she was gracious enough to come spend some time with us. She shared part of her testimony and encouraged us that Jesus has a plan for our lives. We may not be able to see where it is going yet but all we have to do is trust in him.

You reveal the path of life to me;
in your presence is abundant joy;
at your right hand are eternal pleasures.

Psalm 16:11

We asked everyone to bring a faith based book that has encouraged them in their walk with the Lord for a book exchange!

We ate, we sang worship songs, we laughed, and most importantly we were reminded that Jesus loves each and every one of us (+ you!).

Recap: Complete in Christ

“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.”

- Colossians 2:6-7

Worship was led by Chloe, Emily and Anthony!

Yes the same Anthony that also gives the message.

T taught from Colossians 2:1-10 and left us with four major takeaways:

  1. Beware of Division (v2-3): Satan wants to cause division, especially within the church.

2. Beware of persuasive words(v4): Satan will use persuasive words to deceive us and cause us to question God.

3. Make spiritual progress(v5-7): Our relationship with the Lord should not be stagnant. We should always be making progress.

4. Nutrition over addition: God’s word is our main source of spiritual nutrition. We should actively fight for time to read our Bibles because it’s important.

Some time for fellowship and then the night was over.

Hope to see you guys on Friday!

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all
principality and power."
Colossians 2:9-10

How do you feel when you're able to get a job completely done? What about when you still have things on your to-do list? As believers, we can rest assured that even in our brokenness, we can be complete in Jesus. He said it was finished on the cross, and now everything we need for all wisdom and knowledge is found in Christ alone. Join us tonight, at 7:30PM in the Multi-Purpose Room, as we continue in our series through the Book of Colossians. Bring your Bible, invite a friend, and be encouraged through God's Word.

Open Retreat — Recap

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
-Acts 1:8

We were blessed to be invited to join Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa - Open (their young adult group) on their retreat again this year!

Scott Cunningham + his band led worship on Friday night! After this we heard Rob Douglass speak our first message of the retreat. He left us with a question that really stuck with me. Am I willing to truly commit everything in my life to God?

On Saturday morning some friends visited The Overflowing Cup! (coffee shop on the campus).

After some coffee and a tasty breakfast we were lead in worship by Revo Collective + heard messages from Richard Cimino and Brian Brodersen. Pastor Richard encouraged us that a denial from God is as much a part of His plan for our lives as an approval. Pastor Brian encouraged us to live differently than the world around us, like the first Christians in the book of Acts.

After lunch some of us took some time to visit the coffee shop, play some volleyball, and just enjoy this time of fellowship.

Caught this gorgeous sunset on the way to dinner and after we ate it was Pastor Chet Lowe’s turn to speak. Pastor Chet reminded us of the harsh truth that the devil is always out there. He left us with the encouragement that we are champions in the race for Jesus and we need to keep running.

After breakfast the next morning we heard from Pastor Jeff Gipe and Pastor Jarrett Petero. Pastor Jeff reminded that the greatest ability in ministry is availability—when God calls us, we should answer.

Pastor Jarrett reminded us to be conscious of what we are doing right now. All of us have hopes for the future but we need to remember that there is also something special about being present in the everyday.

One last group photo and it was over!

Hope to see you all at The Bridge on Friday!
