FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE — "Unwavering Loyalty"

"Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us."
2 Timothy 1:13-14 NKJV

Loyalty to someone, or something, can be difficult especially in the face of opposition. Companies look for loyal employees, brands have loyal customers, and people often find themselves pets who are loyal companions. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be loyal and faithful to sound doctrine, as well as our commitment to Him and encouraging one another in fellowship. Join us this Friday at 7:30PM, as we continue through our new series through 2 Timothy. Bring your Bible, a journal, and invite a friend!

Recap: "Unashamed of the Gospel"

“ For this gospel I was appointed a herald, apostle, and teacher, and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that the is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.” - 2 Timothy 1:11-12 (CSB)

Friday was a very relaxed day at The Bridge. We had worship, Stacie + baby Peter gave us our announcements, and T picked up where he left off last week in 2 Timothy.

He taught from 2 Timothy 1: 8-12 and left us with a few things to consider:

  1. Do Not Be Ashamed (v8): Following Jesus will come at a price. Despite Timothy’s timidity, he was going to have to stand his ground and be unashamed of the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 3:12).

  2. He’s Got A Plan (v9): God has saved us and called us to live a holy life. It’s only by grace that we have been saved, not by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  3. All Is Revealed (v10): the Bible speaks of the mystery of God in several ways specifically regarding the plan of salvation. The Jewish people were chosen as God’s people, but the Gentiles have also been grafted into this plan as well.

  4. If He Has Called Us To It, He Will Bring Us Through It (v11-12): An apostle has certain qualifications and were personally chosen by the Lord. Jesus met Paul on the road to Damascus and called him into ministry (Acts 9). The apostle represented Jesus, to reject Paul was to also reject the Lord.

I encourage you to listen to the audio from this message once it is posted! It was a good one and there is so much more to take in than what I have posted here. Hope to see you on Friday!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE — "Unashamed of the Gospel"

"For this reason I also suffer these things;
nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him
until that Day."
2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV

It's been said, "if you can't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." As followers of Jesus, we will find be given opportunities where we'll have to stand for our faith, being unashamed to represent Jesus and invite others to know our Lord and Savior. Join us tonight at 7:30PM, in the Overflow Room, as we continue through our new series through 2 Timothy. Bring your Bible, a journal, and invite a friend!

Recap: "Bold Faith"

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment” - 2 Timothy 1:7 (CSB)

Worship was so good Friday night! We start and end every Friday with a time of worship.

Christine shared the Word of Encouragement.

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing” - James 1:2-4 (CSB)

A faith that isn’t tested is a faith that can’t be trusted. It’s okay not to be okay from time to time but we do not stay there because we have a God that is fighting our battles for us!

JB shared announcements!

Note: Men’s Small Groups are this Tuesday, Sept. 10 @ Mark Rizkalla’s house!

Last week we finished up 1 Timothy and on Friday we started 2 Timothy! T taught from 2 Timothy 1:1-7 and left us with four things to think about:

  1. Our ministry is God given (v1-2): Paul was an apostle by the will of God, not of his own doing. This was important for him to remember so that when challenges arose he knew that since God called him he would also deliver him.

  2. Our prayers are needed (v3-4): Not only are our prayers heard and answered by God, but they greatly impact those around us. What an encouragement it must have been for Timothy to know that Paul was praying for him day and night.

  3. Our faith must be ours (v5): We are not born into Christianity. the Bible is clear. We must declare with our mouth that “Jesus is Lord” and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, in order to be saved. (Romans 10:9)

  4. Our gifts require effort (v6-7): Paul exhorted Timothy to “fan into flame” the gifts for ministry that he was being called to. God is looking for people who are not only available, but also willing to take action with the gifts He’s given.

Hope you’ll join us soon!!
