Sunday was a blast! We had a potluck and bonfire at Mark and Noella's house. The weather was just right, a bunch of friends came to hang out and we had the next day off for Labor Day. YES!
The food spread did not disappoint. We had pizza, bacon fried rice, pasta, lumpia, grilled chicken, kalbi, cabbage salad PLUS dozens upon dozens of home made chocolate chip cookies. Can't go wrong with those.
After we ate, we took on a few rounds of Taboo and Apples to Apples. There was a lot of laughter, debating, defending arguments and joking going on. Game time was a great way for us to get to know one another better and find out who was the most competitive.
And of course, there was basketball. Their backyard court is amazing and it just begs to be played on. A bunch of folks shot around, and the guys got in a few 3 on 3 games. And then the ladies were called to the court. The crowd cheered them on as they played an exciting game of 3 on 3, showing off their skills in fouling, traveling, bumping one another and playing with sweatshirts on. Ha! It was super fun.
Teayah, Emily and Cinthia took the WIN. You go girls!
Soon, it was time to get the fire started. Jeremiah and Lenya lent a hand.
Katie, Deanna and Demetrias kept warm by the fire pit.
So did Emily, Jackie, Teayah, Adrienne and Christine. They also took a moment to write down prayer requests, that the prayer team can cover next week during time out prayer.
Jess, Genesis and Noella were all smiles (little Eden was too interested in what she was holding).
Newlyweds Queena and Mike McNab provided us the yummy s'mores supplies. Thanks, you two.
The kiddos tested them out first and gave two big thumbs up of approval.
It was getting late for the baby, so she took a little nap!
The guys couldn't end the night without one more game of ball.
We closed out the evening with a time of introductions, sharing encouragements and a sweet time of worship music.
Thanks to everyone who came out and who brought a dish to share. FUN TIMES! Here are the group shots from the night. Pretty nice looking group!
And a special thank you to the Rizkalla's for being such generous, kind and lovely hosts. See everyone on Friday!
P.S. The guys will see each other this Wed (9/7) for small groups at the Rizkalla's house
